Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had a very nice agent, Officer Patterson, who was pretty laid back. He made it VERY clear that we might not get the greencard for another year, but otherwise he said it was a very good idea that we went the K1 route, and that he thinks we are very legit. He didn't even want to see any of our photos, and asked us no probing questions!

He told us that we did have to take the last step of getting a special clearance certificate from the MD police since the FBI couldn't read our prints. Interview was over very quickly.

Review Topic: General Review

I was in baltimore for my info pass appointment and i was shocked just how americans treat people from outside the country ,like they were animals ,right down to the black guy at the front desk ,who asked to look at i.d`s ,the moment he knew i wasn`t carrying an american i.d ,he tried to assert his authority ,making me hold up my passport ,and open it for him ,even though he hardly glanced at it ,being that he was sitting so far away from the desk ,looking all comfortable and aloof.
He only lean alittle to see my husband`s i.d ,but for real you could have flashed a fake i.d and he wouldn`t know, cause he wasn`t really doing his job ,just acting the part.
The INS officer was the same too.
My husband wrote down the address and she was like yeah thats right thats good ,american address ,but on my I-130 i put down my country`s add and she got on my case.
i thought i was suppose to list my home address ,i didn`t know it was for my current residence

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived a few minutes after 2PM for our 2:30PM appointment. Unfortunately, we were not seen until after 3PM. The adjudication officer was not overly friendly, but not intimidating. She lead us to her office and had us take an oath. During the interview, she asked how we met and confirmed information from the I-485 application we submitted for the Adjustment of Status. Finally, she asked us what evidence we had to solidify our relationship together. The interview process took us no more than 20-30 minutes. Finally, I suggest giving photocopies of your evidence to the officer along with the original evidence so he/she doesn't have to spend time photocopying your documents. This will save you a minimum of 5-10 depending on the amount of evidence you have.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had our interview yesterday. I was at 1pm and we were out by 1:45. We had a nice genltemen. He had us take the oath then proceeded to ask us questions. They were:

What is your husband's mother and father's name?
What is your wife's name?
Do you have any kids?
How old is your wife's son?
How many people live in your house?
How did we meet?
When did I decided to marry my husband?
How is your marriage?
I think that was it.

He looked thru a few pictures and asked for an original document for support and took our few bills and bank statements that had our names on it. He said that he would recommend our case for approval and that it had to go infront of a board. That was it.

Very nice interview the only comment I have is he did not give us any time frame nor did he say anything about removing conditions. I contribute this to him being new.

The officer was very polite and friendly. She asked a few questions and wanted to see some documents. She went for photocopies, joked with Josh, saw our pictures while talking with us about Spanish learning and said that everything looked pretty well... but... that since she was just starting in the job, she did not have the authority to approve us, but that she would certainly recommend our approval to her superiors. I asked her if she wanted to keep the certified copy of our marriage certificate and she said she did not need it. She removed the I-94 from my passport but let me keep the EAD until I receive the GC. 20 minutes maximum. A week later, we received a RFE requesting OUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE!!! Why didn't she take it when I offered it to her?? The letter says that they can't complete our process since that document is missing, can anyone believe that?? We were in MN until the 19th, so only then is when we found out about the RFE. I sent the stuff imm... read complete review
